Colonial times were, among many things, a period of exchange. As different cultures encountered each other, each looked for ways to adapt. Cuts, drapes, fabrics and silhouettes...when people borrowed fashion cues, it created a melange of styles that was unique to the subcontinent.
Public appearances were very regimented, with strict rules governing attire... But on their time off, the Colloquial Colonials wore garments of a very distinct Anglo- Indian style.

For our Autumn-Winter 2015 collection, we have looked at elements from this heady era- corsetry, draping, control of volume, delicate lace and the bejewelled nature of garments.
